About Us
Melanie Stathis, MSPE
I’ve been helping non-profits increase their capacity for impact for well over a decade. My passion for this work is unmatched and draws upon a unique set of skills and knowledge:
Technical expertise in data systems, analytics, and project management
Cause-driven community engagement and team building
Program evaluation, continuous improvement and grant management experience spanning a wide variety of program and grant types including housing, violence intervention, digital equity, education, youth development, workforce development, head start/early head start and public health.
I help organizations develop systems for data-driven decision-making. I guide stakeholders through the collaborative design of overall evaluation strategies, as well as specific tools and data systems so that they can maximize their impact and tell their story. I specialize in catalyzing growth for programs/initiatives with initially limited resources.
MORE ABOUT ME
I first discovered my passion for empowering the disempowered when I was a teen, inspired by experiences volunteering internationally and by my mother’s example. My interest in intercultural dialogue and the complexities of poverty led me to study economic development in the global south at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. While I initially planned to travel the world for work, my sights turned back to my hometown, Chicago, where there was clearly a great need for intercultural dialogue and anti-poverty work. I started my work in Chicago as a coach to unhoused and low-income participants working on financial and employment goals. I believe that my interactions with these participants were the most formative educational experiences I have had to date. I carry forward their resilience and willingness to lean on the support of others. I know that these ingredients are key as we endeavor to create a world where all can thrive.
